Meet Dr Indra Neil Choudhury

Indra

We are so grateful to be able to support brilliant researchers like Dr Indra at the Spinal Injury Project.

Dr Indra Neil Choudhury was recently selected amongst many candidates as the Gold Coast Mayor Student Ambassador (2020). He is also a PhD student representative for the School of Medical Science at Griffith University and regularly teaches problem-based learning classes in the School of Medicine.

Outside of the lab he is involved in multiple outreach and volunteering activities including supporting Australian Red Cross. Indra is currently undertaking his PhD with Associate Professor Jenny Ekberg as part of the Spinal Injury Project at Griffith University, Gold Coast. His work is focussing on how he can stimulate the “cell eating” capability Olfactory Ensheathing Cells (OECs) using naturally occurring chemical compounds which will in turn improve the repair of the injured nervous system, including spinal cord injury.

We are very proud to fund this exciting project, a huge thankyou to YOU – our amazing donors and supporters – who make funding this research possible AND to the amazing team of researchers working towards a CURE for paralysis!
