Work continues to cure paralysis

Now more than ever we are reminded of the importance of research as the world faces the COVID-19 pandemic. Adhering to all public health advice, our Spinal Injury Project is continuing to work towards a cure for paralysis albeit under a new set of working conditions.

Our researchers are still in the lab working hard. While in the lab and office, they are all performing social distancing and washing hands regularly. Some of the team are working from home or staggering work hours to avoid busy periods of public transport and there is a comprehensive contingency plan set up should anyone come down with COVID-19. The team will continue working in the labs on campus until they are told to shut down – however, their work won’t stop there. Our researchers are all set up to work from home. 

There is a LOT of data to analyse and publish from the first phase of the Motor Accident Insurance Commission funding period and the ongoing  work.
