Over two inspiring Open Day events, the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation was delighted to welcome approximately 80 guests to An Evening of Discovery: Inside the Spinal Injury Project at Griffith University.
This exclusive behind-the-scenes experience gave supporters a unique opportunity to step inside the laboratories where groundbreaking spinal cord injury research is taking place and witness firsthand the progress being made towards a cure for paralysis.
Guests were welcomed by Perry Cross, who thanked our incredible community for their support and dedication and for making the human trial possible. Guests also heard from Professor James St John and members of the dedicated research team, who provided fascinating insights into the world-first Nerve Bridge Transplantation and Rehabilitation Human Clinical Trial and the innovative science driving this pioneering work.
Throughout the evening, guests toured the laboratories, met the scientists leading the research, explored the advanced technology being used, and gained a deeper understanding of the complexity of spinal cord injury and the promising progress being made. Seeing the research up close provided a powerful reminder that every breakthrough is made possible through the generosity and support of our community.
The evenings also offered guests the opportunity to ask questions, engage directly with researchers, and learn more about how their support is helping accelerate life-changing discoveries from the laboratory towards real-world treatments.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended and shared in this special experience. Your enthusiasm, encouragement and commitment to our mission continue to inspire both our Foundation and the remarkable researchers working tirelessly to change lives.
